Song of the Day – 1/26/2011

My friend Garrett HATES HATES HATES British people.

Well, i should say, he hates people with obnoxious British accents, which is sorta odd because he viciously claims his Irish heritage. And yes, I know that Ireland and England are not the same thing…but fuck you. Anyway, he hates the British accent because it’s “uppity.” I could go into describing his definition of “uppity,” but it would get real racist around here real quick.

Anyway, Garrett hates this song because the singer is EXTREMELY British, but that’s ok, because it’s a great song. I almost wish that somebody without a British accent would cover it so that Garrett would be able to listen to it all the way through without hating it and humming out loud like a 4-year-old trying to drown out the sound, but it’d lose some of its charm.

The band is called The Lucky Dip Escapade, and they’re apparently so indie that they don’t even have a Wikipedia, Pitchfork, or DayTrotter entry, which is obviously the measuring stick of success these days.

The Lucky Dip Escapade – Camp Fire Song

They do have an album cover though, which is very Google-able.
